Occupant engagement saves energy in 153 Toronto buildings

Attended the Race to Reduce Awards this past week at The Metro Convention Centre. Civic Action’s Race to Reduce involved 153 GTA buildings, totaling 63 million sqft over a one year period, with a goal to reduce energy consumption simply by engaging occupants to change behavior.  The result was an average 2% reduction in consumption across all buildings. The biggest winner; Toronto City Hall, with an 18% reduction.
